Light and Health

Light is essential for our health and cellular function, just like water, sleep, and the nutrients from food. The human body is designed to function with an abundance of natural sunlight. However, the average American spends over 90% of their time indoors. That’s not nearly enough natural light for optimal living! Worse yet, much of the time we spend indoors is filled with bright blue light from screens and overhead lighting, which has a negative effect on hormones, sleep, and circadian rhythms. 

Red Light vs IR Sauna

The purpose of an infrared sauna is to heat the body from the inside out to increase heart rate, perspiration, heat shock proteins and improve the body in other ways. The infrared light from a sauna is invisible, and penetrates much deeper into the body with wavelengths at 700-1200 nanometers. Red therapy light or photobiomodulation impacts cells on the cellular level and increases mitochondrial function and ATP production. The wavelengths for red light therapy range between 630-880 nanometers. Red therapy light penetrates about 8-10 millimeters into the skin affecting all skin layers, reaching into blood vessels, lymph pathways, nerves, and hair follicles. It essentially “feeds” your cells to increase energy.

Each standard session is 20 minutes and will heal your cells and body from the inside out!

You can use your time to rest, meditate, contemplate, or pray. 

It feels pleasantly warm and relaxing like a nice day on the beach or lake, but without the tanning effects of UV. 

Yes, please arrive 15 minutes early to sign the waiver.

You should be between 3 cm to 1 foot away from your target area. 

We suggest being in the nude to directly expose the skin since you are in a private room. Some people like to wear loose, comfortable clothing so it is easy to get dressed after the session. 

Red light is considered safe for the eyes, but infrared is not safe for the eyes. Since our full body red light device has both red and NIR light we provide googles to use for eye safety. 

If you prefer to not wear the googles, we will not turn on the NIR light setting to maintain eye safety.  

Bon Charge Super Max Full Body Panel uses 300 5W LEDs at 1500W that are certified low EMF. 

It delivers 660nm Red and 850nm Near Infrared. The irradiance is >162 mw/cm2

Yes! It is invisible to the human eye, but you are getting the benefits of infrared light with our device. 

It gets warm but not hot. Red light is a different wavelength than UV light. It does not produce any tanning effect. 

Yes. In fact, the original research for modern red light therapy came from NASA. Red light devices were used to limit bone and muscle loss. They also discovered that certain spectrums of red light allowed plant growth. 

Please consult your physician if you have any of the following: epilepsy, open wounds, pregnancy, low blood pressure, cancer, bleeding, infection, lupus, albinism, eye disease, migraines, light sensitivity. 

Our device does not flicker. However, those with a history of seizures should proceed with caution. 

Yes certain medications can cause photosensitivity! 

The following medications have been known to cause light sensitivity and it is recommended to check with your doctor before discontinuing any prescribed medications.

Protocol is to suspend any of the following medications for 5-7 days before undergoing light therapy.

Yes! Especially if they have any skin issues. 

We recommend 3-5xs per week for general health to enhance your cellular function, reduce pain & inflammation, aid better sleep, and all of the anti-aging benefits.

It’s best to give red light therapy between 4-12 weeks of continual use to start seeing noticeable benefits.
